Our TDTD Junior, Kyla Coaxum (17) - who is also a member of the First Tee - Greater Pasadena chapter, has been selected to attend the First Tee Game Changers Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (July 20 - 24, 2021).

After a one-year delay due to the pandemic, Carolyn Suttles was finally inducted into the African American Golf Hall of Fame on May 30, 2021 in West Palm Beach, FL. Carolyn received the 2020 Founder’s Award representing Desert Mashie Golf Club.

Induction into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Desert Mashie Golf Club! The Arizona Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held Nov 23, 2021 at Paradise Valley Country Club, AZ. Desert Mashie Golf Club received the "Industry Leader Award". Desert Mashie Golf Club is one of the oldest independent clubs in Arizona. The club defined its purpose, commitment and outlined a program for growth, with five objectives established that holds true today:
1. To provide instructions and clinics for its members.
2. To provide organized competition for its members
3. To provide a golf program for youth.
4. To provide a program for women.
5. To develop better public relations in the total golf community.
We had three full tables of Mashie guests in attendance along with Arizona Golf Association board members, past inductees, junior golf recipients, First Tee of Phoenix, JGAA, GCSAA, PGA, CMAA, families and friends. Carolyn Suttles was presented with a Lifetime Membership in the Desert Mashie Golf Club by President Booker Evans. Abigale Morris, a Desert Mashie Junior, received the prestigious Greg Hoyt Award given by the First Tee of Phoenix to outstanding male and female golfers annually that best exemplifies the First Tee and displays the nine core values and serves as a volunteer and role model to others. Abigale carries a 4.5 GPA in addition to her ever growing golf skills. It was a night to remember, 75 years in the making.

Membership: There are currently 28 members who visit different golf courses in the San Francisco Bay Area for our monthly tournaments.
Monthly tournaments are held from March-November. During the November monthly tournament, turkeys are given to all attending members at the tournament.
